Rajasthan tourism’s flagship luxury train, the Palace on Wheels, is ready for it’s 4 departures scheduled this November. The train, which ran its first journey of the season on 5th September, 2012 and has already run 9 journeys since then, has departures lined up on the 7th, 14thm 21st and 28th of next month.

Palace on Wheels, first launched in 1982, has been one of the most successful enterprises of Rajasthan Tourism that offers a 7 night, 8 day journey of unmatched luxury. The train is seen as a true benchmark in luxury and has already been rated the 4th best luxury train in the world by Conde Nast Traveler. With 14 guest carriages that include dining, lounge and spa cars, Palace on Wheels has won rave reviews due to luxury it affords to its guests and its special provisions for accommodating handicapped guests. The journey’s itinerary is well planned and most miles are crunched during nights when guests are relaxing in the trains comfy interiors. Days mostly include sightseeing and explorative excursions in and around the scheduled destination.
Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis and it is believed that the journeys around New Year’s Eve have already been sold out. Those interested in booking a berth on the most luxurious rail journey on Indian lands can now head to Indian Luxury Trains and make reservations for the upcoming departures. Remember, the season has only started and there are still lots of journeys left till the season comes to an end in April 2013.
