The train is operated by the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation and marketed by The Luxury Trains, whereas The Maple Group handles the hospitality services on the train.

The Golden Chariot Rail Journeys
Pride of the South
The Golden Chariot offers two evocative rail journeys lasting 7 days and 8 night tours named Pride of the South and the Splendor of the South respectively. The Golden Chariot offers two 7 days and 8 night tours named Pride of the South and the Spledor of the South respectively. Pride of the South rail journey begins from Bangalore and chug along to cover major tourist destinations such as Kabini, Mysore, Hassan, Hospet, Badami and Goa, before returning to Bangalore.
Splendor of the South
Splendor of the South is another grand way of traversing across the colorful and culturally vibrant southern regions of India. Extensively traveling through the length and breadth of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, this luxury train offers 8-day sojourn to its guests. This tour also begins from Bangalore and covers Cheenai, Mamallapuram, Chennai, Pondicherry, Tiruchirapalli, Tanjavur, Madurai, Thiruvanantpuram, Poovar, Alleppey and Kochi before returning to Bangalore.

Dining & Wining
There are two elegantly appointed restaurants on board the Golden Chariot train offering gourmet dining experience to the guests. The restaurants have been named Nala and Ruchi. Interestingly Nala was a king of Nishadas who finds mention in ancient Indian epic Mahabharata. He had a great knowledge of horse and was a celebrated chef regarded one of the greatest in Indian mythology. The other restaurant named Ruchi translates to fine taste in Sanskrit.

Both restaurant endeavors to live up to their names, serving mouth tingling cuisines. An array of cuisines both Indian and international, are served to tantalize the taste buds of the guest in a refined ambience.
